    2026 Call for Officer Nominations

    Serving as a leader in NPAA offers great opportunities to build professional networks with other nursing professionals and support the legislative process. Take an opportunity to get involved! Feel free to nominate yourself or another NPAA member. 

    Regular Election for 2026-2028 term of office.

    The NPAA Nominating Committee has opened its 2026 Call for Nominations for the following offices who will serve during 2026-2028 term:

    ·       VP for Community Affairs: Shall coordinate any events, including the annual meeting (in coordination with the President). The VP for Community Affairs will chair the Annual Conference Committee and may take on special tasks as designated by the President. 

    ·       VP for Policy: Shall be familiar with and represent NPAA on all matters related to NP policy matters. The VP for Policy serves as the Parliamentarian, chairs the Legislative Committee, and may take on special tasks as designated by the President. 

    ·       Treasurer: Shall maintain records of accounts, including all bank deposits and disbursements. The Treasurer shall be co-signer of all bank accounts with the President and President-elect; is responsible for preparing an annual budget to be approved by the Executive Committee, and serves as the chair of the Finance Committee. Note: All financial records will be audited prior to the treasurer taking office.

    ·       Two (2) Student Members-at-Large shall serve on the Steering Committee for a one (1) year term. Student Members-at-Large will be elected annually.

    You will be required to upload PDF files for the following information: CV; Bio (limit 250 words); Photo; and a PDF of answers to the required questions (see required questions below).  Candidates are also encouraged to prepare a one-minute video (see additional details below).

    Required Questions:

    1. Professional Background and Experience (150 words): Please describe your current professional role and your experience as a nurse practitioner and how this has prepared you to contribute to the work of NPAA and serve in a leadership role?

    2. Leadership and Service (150 words): Describe any leadership roles, committee participation, or service activities you have had within healthcare organizations or professional associations and how those roles have prepared you for board service?

    3. Advocacy and Engagement (150 words): How have you participated in advocacy or activities that support the nurse practitioner profession, patient access to care, or healthcare policy?

    4. Commitment and Availability (150 words): Board service requires participation in meetings, committees, and organizational initiatives. Please describe how you plan to meet these responsibilities and what motivates you to commit your time to NPAA leadership.

    5. Vision and Alignment with NPAA (150 words): Why are you interested in serving NPAA, and what do you believe are the most important priorities for the nurse practitioner profession in Alabama?

    Candidate Video Prompt:

    Please record a one-minute video introducing yourself to the members of NPAA. In your video, briefly share:

    • Your current role and area of nurse practitioner practice
    • One experience that shaped your leadership or service in the profession
    • What motivates you to support and advance the mission of NPAA
    • One perspective or strength you would bring to the NPAA Board

    This video allows the members to understand your commitment to advancing the nurse practitioner profession. Thank you for your support of NPAA and good luck in the upcoming election.

    Notes:

    ·       All executive committee positions carry a 2-year term. Student Members At Large carry a 1-year term.

    ·       All nominees must be NPAA Members in good standing.

    ·       All current members are invited to nominate themselves and/or other members. All nominees must click on the Register button on the left side of the screen to complete the “Nomination Form”

      We are thrilled to announce the 20th Annual Conference on October 1-3, 2026, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Gulf Shores. Attendees will enjoy high-quality continuing education, evidence-based sessions, meaningful networking, and timely discussions on policy, practice, and professional growth.       The event will have hands-on workshops the morning of Thursday, October 1 with the conference kick-off starting at 1:00 pm.  Lectures and breakout sessions will be all day on Friday with ample time to visit with exhibitors.  On Saturday morning, we will offer the 2026 Opioid Guidelines Update.
